ARMOY schoolboy Sam Adams will be back in the driver's seat on Saturday for the Bishopscourt Stages Rally - just seven weeks after a road traffic accident left him in a high dependency unit unable to walk.
The 16-year-old underwent surgery in Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital to insert a metal rod in each leg after breaking both his femur in a crash outside Ballycastle back in January.
The pace of his recovery has staggered medical staff who initially told the teenager that it would be at least three months before he could even start to think about rallying again.
"It is hard to believe," admitted Sam.
"I can't wait to get back into the car."
