PORTRUSH bowler Ian McClure hopes to complete the set when he competes in his fifth Commonwealth Games in Australia later this year.
The 44-year-old Bowls Development Officer has a bronze and gold medal to his name thanks to success at Victoria in Canada in 1994 and Kuala Lumpar four years later.
“In an ideal world you'd be looking to medal, that's where you would need to be at," he admitted this week, after being named in the NI team for the trip to 'Gold Coast 2018.'
“Things don't always go your way obviously - I had two fifth places in Glasgow four years ago - but we're more than capable of winning a medal.
“If someone offered me a silver now I'd take it but we'll just have to wait and see what happens."
Ian will partner good friend Gary Kelly in a formidable looking Pairs team as they look to build on recent successes.
The duo won silver at the 2016 World Championships in New Zealand and have claimed gold and silver in the 2015 and 2011 Atlantic Championships respectively.
