SECOND half goals from Ian Parkhill and Darren McCauley ensured a 17th league win of the season for Coleraine at Warrenpoint Town on Friday night and ensured the Bannsiders would remain top on Christmas Day.
It also completed a gruelling seven days for Oran Kearney's men who were forced to make two long distance journeys in successive weeks.
No wonder the Coleraine manager admitted satisfaction with his players' week's work at the final whistle as they continue to set the pace in the race for the Gibson Cup.
There was little in the opening 45 minutes to excite the large travelling support who defied the 200 odd mile round trip to Milltown.
Neither side looked likely to score in a tense opening half which perhaps suited Warrenpoint Town manager Matthew Tipton more than his opposite number.
However, his best laid plans were upset somewhat three minutes after half-time when Coleraine opened the scoring.
A good piece of play down Coleraine's left hand side ended with Ian Parkhill finding himself in space on the edge of the home penalty area.
