COLERAINE striker Eoin Bradley looks set to join colleague Brad Lyons on the sidelines for the foreseeable future after confirming on Monday that he has suffered a posterior ligament tear in his right knee.
The big Kilrea man, who sat out Saturday's dramatic win over Linfield, had undergone a scan after getting injured in the recent victory at Ballymena. The result confirmed the worst - that he may be out of action for up to eight weeks.
The news follows confirmation that midfielder Brad Lyons, who scored the opening goal against the Blues, suffered two fractured cheekbones in that game and will also be missing for some considerable time.
It's a double blow for the table-topping Bannsiders who will also be without the suspended Josh Carson for Tuesday evening's Bet McLean League Cup tie at Crusaders.
“It's disappointing, especially with the way the team's playing, but there's nothing you can do," said Bradley on Monday.
“I will know the full extent of the damage on Tuesday and I may have to wear a knee brace for six weeks.
“We'll play it by ear, but it'll give other boys a chance. Morale in the squad is good and hopefully Brad and I will be back around the same time to give the boys a boost," added 'Skinner.'
Meanwhile, Brad Lyons was expected to undergo an operation in Altnagelvin Hospital on Tuesday morning to repair damage caused during an incident on Saturday.
