ORGANISERS of the weekend's motorcycle beach race on Portrush's East Strand - the first of its kind in Northern Ireland - have described it as a 'success.'
Over 100 riders took part in a series of solo motorcycle and quad races on both Saturday and Sunday, attracting plenty of onlookers to the unique event organised by Foyle District Motorcycle Club in conjunction with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
“We'd like to thank everyone who helped make the weekend such a great success," said Foyle Club chairman Oliver Hyndman.
“There was some great racing and all the riders really rose to the challenge of a beach course.
“It was enjoyed by riders and spectators alike and is another great example of how well Portrush plays host to motorcycle events," he added.
Already, there have been calls for the races to become an annual event such was the popularity of last weekend.
