Eoghan Rua’s ladies in first county final thumbnailThe Eoghan Rua ladies which will play Craigbane in this weekend’s county final after defeating neighbours Ballerin in a closely fought semi-final.

EOGHAN Rua Senior Ladies Footballers qualified for their first ever county final on Friday past with a close fought win over neighbours Ballerin in wet conditions at Celtic Park.
This Junior Championship match had everything - some great score taking, some super last ditch defending, yellow card and ten minute sin binning and extra-time to keep everyone on edge before the final whistle brought the Eoghan Rua senior ladies through to a first ever Championship final date this Saturday.
Eoghan Rua started well and had three points on the board before Ballerin troubled the scoreboard.
The teams traded points before a well worked score from Aoife Boorman left Eoghan Rua up by 0-06 to 0-02 at the break.
The start of the second half saw Ballerin notch a score before a Shauna Doherty point and an Aoife Boorman goal saw Coleraine take a seven point lead ten minutes in to the second period.
At this stage Ballerin started to dominate and with the aid of whatever breeze there was put the Coleraine defence under sustained pressure.
