BANN Rowing Club starlet Hannah Scott believes spending the next four years in America will accelerate her development and strengthen her chances of breaking into the GB Rowing Team.
Scott has been handed a place at Princeton University where, as part of a rowing scholarship, she'll train with the women's crew and former U.S. Olympic Team coach, Lori Dauphiny.
The 18-year-old has made some significant gains on the water this year, with her most impressive displays coming in the Single Sculls final at the National Schools' Regatta, which she won.
Her performance not only pricked the interest of representatives from Great Britain's Under 23 development squad at the annual event but also increased her profile within Rowing Ireland.
She leaves for America next week having visited the campus last October where she met some of the team and the coach, as well as getting the chance to cast her eye over the facilities.
