NORTHERN Ireland's greatest ever goalscorer has admitted it is an 'honour' to have been asked to officially open this week's SuperCupNI.
Healy, who played in the tournament three times, described it as an 'absolute pleasure' to again be involved in an event close to his heart.
“I have been involved before in helping with the draw but it is an absolute honour to open the tournament," said the 37-year-old who netted 36 times for his country.
“I played in it three times and I remember the parade as a young player. It wasn't as embarrassing then as it was this time walking at the front and people calling out your name.
“It's very humbling and I'm thankful for everyone who turned out to watch," he added.
The former Man Utd, Leeds Utd and Sunderland striker urged this week's young players to follow the example of tournament graduates, including current old Trafford hero Marcus Rashford.
“That's something for these kids to aim for," he continued.
