ARMOY Road Race supremo Bill Kennedy has expressed his relief at being able to nail down a new title sponsor in time for this summer's event. This morning (Tuesday) Mr Kennedy announced that Coleraine business Roadside Garages will be the principal backer of the meeting for 2017.
Roadside Garages is no stranger to the sport given its association with Michael Dunlop, who is in action at the TT races this week and next.
It has also built up a strong rapport with Mr Kennedy in the nine short years since the Race of Legends was added to the national calendar.
The search for a new title sponsor was sparked by SGS International's surprise decision to cut its ties following two very successful years.
“2017 is set to be a good year, and with Roadside KIA on board as title sponsor, we are all very happy," said Mr Kennedy, himself a former racer. "I'm not going to make any bones about it; I wish we had this sorted a few months ago, but it's all go now given this announcement.
