BANN Wheelers Club members held their annual Open Race on Saturday, May 20, on the Cashel Road circuit near Ringsend on a dry warm sunny afternoon.
The race attracted over 150 riders from all four corners of Northern and Southern Ireland for an event sanctioned by the governing body, Cycling Ireland.
Riders from all four race categories - A1-A2-A3 (5 laps 59 miles), A4 (4 Laps 48.5 miles) and Masters and Ladies (3 laps 37.5 miles) - took part on a challenging course that suited both those strong on the flat and racers who perform well on the hills.
Bann Wheeler Alistair Robinson from Portstewart finished 3rd in the A3 race while Ruth Johnston from Coleraine finished second in the ladies' race.
Elsewhere, Mark Johnston from Coleraine finished first non-placed BW in the A1/A2 race with Nigel Watt finishing the first non-placed BW in the A3 race and Russell Callaghan the first non-placed BW in the A4 race.
