Blues striker proves his ‘Worth on the big stage' thumbnail

THE last time these two teams met in an Irish Cup final, legendary Linfield striker Peter Thompson bagged a quick-fire double to seal a barely deserved 2-1 win over Marty Quinn's side.
On Saturday, it was the equally revered Andy Waterworth who was the Blues' hero with two goals in five first half minutes.
The former Hamilton Academicals man went one better than his illustrious predecessor by grabbing a third near the end of the match to seal an emphatic victory for David Healy's side.
And while the cup win of nine years ago may be regarded as fortunate the same could not be said for matters at the National Stadium at Windsor Park on Saturday.
