COLERAINE captain David Ogilby believes the Bannsiders' eagerly awaited appearance in Saturday's Tennent's Irish Cup final should be the norm rather than the exception.
And he feels victory against newly crowned Danske Bank Premiership champions Linfield could act as the catalyst for future success for Oran Kearney's developing team.
“The people of Coleraine have been starved of success in recent years and events like Saturday should be more regular," argues the 32-year-old.
“It should be the norm rather than the exception and it has been far too long since the club was in a final - never mind won a trophy.
“Beating Linfield this weekend would give this group confidence, break the ice. I believe if we were to win then the young boys would get a taste for it and keep developing."
A stalwart of the Irish League who made his debut for Institute in 2003 - ironically, the last time Coleraine won the Irish Cup - Ogilby admits Saturday is the biggest game of his career.
