Europe is worth its weight in gold, says Oran Kearney thumbnail

IN the end it may not have been how he envisaged leading the club back into Europe but Coleraine manager Oran Kearney is all too aware of just how significant an achievement it is.
The Bannsiders qualified for next season's Europa League despite the disappointment of a 5-1 defeat to Linfield, rendering the result of Saturday's final game at home to Ballymena Utd meaningless.
Indeed, Kearney is expected to rest most of his players this weekend with more than one eye on next month's Tennent's Irish Cup against Linfield at the National Stadium.
“Europe means a lot to this club in many different ways - from financial gain to footballing experience which for the younger players in particular will be worth its weight in gold," he said.
“It can bring a club together - it's brilliant for fans, the away trip in particular is a great trip - and it's something I've had the privilege of doing as a player.
