FORMER Major Champion Justin Rose remains confident that he will not be the last household golfing name heading to this summer's Irish Open on the north coast.
The Englishman confirmed his attendance at the event, which takes place at Portstewart Golf Club from July 6-9, on his official Twitter page on Monday afternoon.
It will be Rose's first Irish Open outing in seven years, and the first time the 2013 US Open winner and Olympic gold medallist will have played in Northern Ireland.
“I haven't played the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open for a while now, so I'm very excited about going back," revealed Rose, who was pipped earlier this month to The Masters title by Spaniard Sergio Garcia in a thrilling play-off at Augusta. "The Irish fans are always a lot of fun to play in front of. It's always good craic out there." Rose believes that with Rory McIlroy spearheading the tournament, and its date on the calendar, further announcements can be expected in the coming weeks.
