Thomas on cue for Irish double thumbnail

RECENTLY crowned NI pool champion Thomas Morrow is hoping to pocket a unique double when he competes in the All Ireland Championships later this spring.
The 29-year-old chalked up his latest success - the Men's NI Championhips title - in Larne earlier this month and immediately set his sights on adding the All Ireland crown to his list of achievements.
A former NI champion at U-16, U-18 and U-21 levels, Thomas admitted there had been times when he thought the senior title might elude him.
Not least in the final against Ballymena's Gary Clarke when he trailed 6-2 in the first to eight frames final.
However, a mistake by his opponent in the ninth frame allowed Morrow in and he never looked back, producing a blistering period of pool to reel off the next six frames to win 8-6.
