McGonigle leads the way in Ards victory thumbnailJamie McGonigle is congratulated after he scores to make it two-nil against Ards.

LEADING scorer Jamie McGonigle says he is determined to hold on to his place as striker despite increased competition. The Dungiven man made it ten league goals for the season with a well-struck effort against Ards on Saturday but hasn't always played in his favoured role up front.
He has often been deployed in a wide right position to accommodate rival strikers including Eoin Bradley and Jordan Allan.
However, five goals in his his last three outings has underlined his value to the team.
“I hit the net twice against Carrick but then I had a bit of an injury," said McGonigle.
“I came back from that and anytime now I get a sight of goal I just hit its as my confidence is so high.
“I'm a striker and I always want to play up front. I've got five goals in my last three games playing up front but there is plenty of competition for places.
“James came back in today and scored straightaway but hopefully I can keep my strikers' spot."
McGonigle doubled Coleraine's lead after Ian Parkhill had put the hosts in front with a superb curling effort from 25 yards but Ards pulled a goal back from the penalty spot before the break.
However, substitute James McLaughlin eased any nerves among home supporters by climbing off the bench to make it 3-1 on his return from injury. "Confidence is high within the squad as everybody's enjoying their game," continued McGonigle.
