Olympian inducted into Hall of Fame thumbnailWilliam and Jennifer Campbell accept the Hall of Fame award on behalf of their son Alan from compere for the evening, Sarah Travers, and Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Councilís Head of Sport and Wellbeing Wendy McCullough.

FOUR time Olympian Alan Campbell has capped an incredible career by becoming the latest inductee into the Causeway Coast and Glens Sporting Hall of Fame.
The bronze medallist from London 2012 received the honour at Friday evening's annual Sports Awards in Coleraine.
Alan's mum Jennifer collected the award on her son's behalf and said he would be delighted and proud to have been recognised in this way - particularly in an Olympic year.
“He has won the International Sports Person award before but he always said the one he would love to win would be the Hall of Fame," Jennifer told over 300 guests in the Lodge Hotel.
“It's the greatest accolade you could give him and I know he'll be very pleased."
Alan Campbell competed at four Olympic Games, including Brazil this summer, and brought the curtain down on his rowing career at the recent Great Eight event in the United States alongside great rivals including Mahe Drysfale and Olaf Tufte.
A total of 14 awards were presented on Friday night, recognising talent from the four legacy councils of Coleraine, Ballymoney, Moyle and Limavady.
Among those to collect an award were Ireland hockey international Katie Mullan, named Senior Sports Woman of the Year, and Ballymoney road racer Michael Dunlop, a popular winner of the Sports Man of the Year award.
“I was in England today but I wanted to be here this evening," he told compere Sarah Travers.
“It's always nice to be home and to be recognised in this way."
