Beverland wary of former team-mates thumbnailTalented midfielder Brad Lyons is one of a number of promising young players former Coleraine captain Howard Beverland will have to keep a close eye on when the Bannsiders travel to Crusaders this weekend.

FORMER Coleraine captain Howard Beverland admits he is not surprised at the good start his old club has made to the new season as he prepares to welcome them to Seaview this weekend. Beverland, who spent almost ten years at the Showgrounds before joining champions Crusaders in the summer, claims the potential has always been there among the present group of players at the Showgrounds.
But he has warned them that his current side are keen to banish memories of their recent defeat at Ballymena and continue their relentless push towards a third successive Gibson Cup.
“I've been keeping a look-out for the Coleraine every week which I suppose is only natural when I spent so long there," admitted the 26-year-old social worker who was in the stand as Coleraine drew 2-2 with Dungannon on Friday night.
“I wouldn't say I was surprised at their good start as the potential has always been there but it seems now that things have clicked.
