Drug arrests on the rise thumbnail

CRIME figures obtained by the Chronicle show a significant rise in the number of arrests for possession of drugs across the borough last year.
While the number of more serious trafficking cases was down by a quarter across Causeway Coast and Glens, recorded cases of possession rose by over 25 per cent.
A total of 378 people were caught with illegal substances in 2017/18, compared to 301 the year before.
Trafficking cases, which include distribution and street level supply, fell from 57 to 42 in the same period.
