COMMONWEALTH Games bowlers Gary Kelly and Ian McClure will spearhead the Ireland challenge at this week's Indoor Home International Men's series.
Indeed, McClure is the team captain for the event which takes place at Paisley indoor bowls club later this week.
The Irish, led by Portrush clubman McClure, will face the might of England, Scotland and Wales as they hope to bring the title back to the Emerald Isle.
He will be backed by the likes of fellow Commonwealth Games athlete Kelly as well as Gary McCloy, Nigel Robinson, Barry Kane, Aaron Tennent and Derek Smith among others.
“We have a new manager this year with Clifford Craig taking the reigns and no less than seven new caps being introduced, with an emphasis on youth," said McClure.
“Undoubtedly it is a tough assignment over six rinks and 24 players as the other countries have a vast pool of players to choose from.
“However, we are excited by the challenge ahead," he added.
The premier indoor event will take place over three days - March 15-17.
