THE Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae has announced ambitious expansion plans which will create 30 new jobs.
The proposal includes 20 new rooms and an underground restaurant with windows cut into the cliff face, overlooking the bay.
The Bayview Hotel has been a fixture of life in Portballintrae since the early 1900s.
It benefits from one of Northern Ireland's most stunning views of the Atlantic and is within close distance to some of the Province's most popular sandy beaches and attractions like the Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Bushmills Distillery.
According to the hotel's owner, a recent boom in the area's tourism has played a large part in the decision to expand the hotel.
Trevor Kane, Managing Director, said: "It's no secret that the popularity of this area has grown in recent years. The current occupancy rate of the Bayview maintains a steady 83 per cent - well above Northern Ireland's average - and at peak holiday season, hotel rooms on the North Coast are in notoriously short supply.
