Battling Coleraine grind out victory over Banbridge

COLERAINE Seconds maintained their fine form with a hard-earned 3-1 win over in-form visitors Banbridge Thirds at the weekend.
The county Down team arrived on the north coast in confident mood have won their last three league games and they quickly set about asserting their influence on this game.
Only some heroic defending by Ursula Harper, Jess Small, Ruth Steenson and Anna Jinks managed to deny Banbridge, with goalkeeper Beth McMullan also in fine form when called upon.
Coleraine's front pairing of Helen McCallum and CarolAnne Agnew produced plenty of effort but with a lack of ball struggled to create many meaningful chances.
Eventually, however, Coleraine began to gain the upper hand and CarolAnne, Lindsey Wallace and Zoe Campbell all went close to opening the scoring.
Banbridge soon reasserted their domination, however, and with Aurora Watson and Lucy McCallum thrown in to help the defensive efforts, their best attempts were thwarted.
