A PORTSTEWART crèche is riding on the crest of a wave after receiving an £85,000 cash injection for expansion and a top inspection report.
The vital funding will enable Stepping Stones to create several new jobs and secure 20 others over the next two years.
Stepping Stones has already started investing the money by opening a new after school and holiday club.
It is also significantly increasing its baby care capacity and introducing the latest technology including a multi-sensory room.
The expansion will meet the growing demand for flexible, affordable childcare, boost the local economy and allow more parents to work.
Enrolled pre-school numbers will be able to rise from 65 to 85 children aged from three months to 11. The crèche also offers flexible and full wrap around care for pre-school children.
The grant will see it become one of the first childcare facilities in Northern Ireland to incorporate classes based on protecting the coastal environment, developing toddlers' awareness of marine life, plants and beach safety.
