SLAUGHTNEIL footballers will enjoy a well earned rest over the festive period before setting their sights on Munster champions Nemo Rangers in the All Ireland semi-final early in the New Year.
The Derry champions made it back-to-back Ulster wins with a deserved win over Cavan Gaels at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh on Sunday.
Incredibly, the weekend's victory sees the rural club complete an unprecedented 'double treble' after the hurlers and camogs both retained their provincial crowns earlier in the year.
“It would be fair to say that the pressure was on us but, generally, we were comfortable throughout," admitted Slaughtneil assistant manager John Joe Kearney.
Elsewhere in the All Ireland series, Connacht champions Corofin were taken to extra-time by Mayo's Castlebar Mitchel's before winning and they now play the London champions in the quarter-final while the Leinster final will be between St. Loman's of Westmeath and Moorfield of Kildare.
The respective winners will meet in the second semi-final.
