A HEARTBROKEN local family's agonising wait for justice finally ended yesterday (Monday) when cold-blooded killer Fred McClenaghan was locked up for at least 13 years.
McClenaghan put Coleraine woman Marion Millican's loved ones through the anguish
of three trials before finally admitting his guilt.
During the life sentence tariff ruling, Mr Justice Adrian Colton said McClenaghan, who blasted the mum-of-four at point-blank range in the chest with an antique shotgun six years ago, must serve 13 years before bars before being considered for release.
He added: "There can be no happy outcome but the defendant's belated plea is a welcome recognition of his wrongdoing and a relief for all concerned in this tragic case. The uncertainty that has haunted this case is now at an end."
