Cara’s crowning glory for Zachary thumbnailCara Hunter will storm the runway for mental health in tribute to her best friend Zachary Geddis, who took his own life.

A YOUNG Portrush woman paid tribute to her best friend who died by suicide earlier this year by taking the crown at a beauty pageant in aid of mental health.
Cara Hunter was left heart-broken when her best friend of 10 years, Zachary Geddis, took his own life at his London home in March of this year, while studying fashion illustration at the University of the Arts.
The 21-year-old described the "sheer anguish" she had experienced in the six months since his passing and the difficulty of finding her once bubbly personality after his death.
Cara was encouraged to enter Miss Intercontinental Northern Ireland, a pageant which was heavily associated with a mental health charity, by Gavagh boutique, She's Fabulous.
Although keen to delve into something new, Cara explained she had just graduated from university in Liverpool and had little money to even consider taking part, however, the Garvagh based boutique offered to sponsor her.
She said: "Zachary loved it when I entered anything and he was such a fabulous and flamboyant guy that would push you into doing anything. He is with me always and is such a driving force."
