Charity cycle in gear for Anna thumbnail

A KILREA father is planning to cycle through every county in Ireland over eight days in tribute to his daughter who passed away from a brain tumour three years ago.
Randal McAllister will be joined by his close friends Paul Donnelly and Brian Calvert in his mammoth challenge of cycling 1,200km through all 32 counties of Ireland in memory of his daughter Anna.
The three keen cyclists hope to raise funds for Cancer Fund for Children and Children's Cancer Unit Charity during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month which looks to raising awareness of the devastating impact of childhood cancer on families.
Anna McAllister, a former student at Loreto College in Coleraine, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in March 2013 when she was just 15 years old.
Following her diagnosis, she underwent major brain surgery, multiple courses of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, stem cell transplants and emergency surgeries.
Sadly on September 19, 2014, aged just 16 years old, Anna passed away after a heroic fight to overcome her cancer.
