A JUDGE has issued an arrest warrant for a Portrush man accused of endangering a police helicopter during an alleged laser attack.
Christopher McCrory from Glendun Close is charged with recklessly or negligently acting in a manner likely to endanger an aircraft, or any person in an aircraft, contrary to Article 137 and Article 241(8) of the Air Navigation Order 2009.
The charge relates to an alleged incident on July 19 this year when the police chopper was targeted during a search and rescue operation.
The helicopter was searching cliffs near Portrush, along with the Coastguard and RNLI lifeboat, when the alleged incident took place.
The drama began at around 11.30pm when Coleraine Coastguard was dispatched to the Blackrocks cliffs to assist in the search for a vulnerable missing woman.
