Wedding day joy for Andrea thumbnail

AN inspirational Coleraine mother, who founded a memorial garden for bereaved parents after her young daughter died in an accident, has found some new joy by remarrying.
Andrea McAleese, whose three-year-old daughter Roma was killed in a road accident eight years ago, tied the knot in style with Tommy McConaghy at the iconic Dark Hedges on Friday.
Special memorial candles, bearing a picture of Roma, were lit during the intimate ceremony, attended by 70 friends and family, at Gracehill House.
Hairdresser Andrea, who called her salon in Coleraine Romaya, from the names of her two daughters, Roma and Maya, has been hailed a hero for her dedication to helping other parents who have lost a child and for raising over 80,000 to construct the Angel of Hope memorial garden in Coleraine.
Earlier this year Andrea received the Overcoming Advertsity award at the Sunday Life Spirit of Northern Ireland awards event.
