Hang up on the bogus callers thumbnail

A COLERAINE woman, who received up to 50 bogus calls a month, is warning others to be careful after a voicemail told her to call back or face "dire consequences."
Pamela Hutchinson panicked when she received a voice message from a fraudster who claimed they were calling from HMRC and instructed her to immediately call the number back as she had been filed for a serious court case.
However Pamela, who had grown suspicious of the same number which called her house at least three times a day for the past few months, wisely contacted the police and Action Fraud.
Pamela explained: "I was getting a lot of funny calls and I usually turn my phone off at night. They called three times on July 12 which I thought was suspicious and so I didn't answer it.
“A few days later I had a message left very early in the morning. The message said my name was filed for a serious law suit against me and that I was to call back immediately or there would be dire consequences."
