COLERAINE town centre could soon be part of an innovative new scheme aimed at promoting regeneration, development and the night time economy.
Survey work and workshops have already taken place in relation to a 'BIDs' project where businesses get together to pay a levy for any initiatives or improvements they deem necessary.
Senior Consultant for the NI Bids Company, Ms Sharon Scott told councillors attending last week's Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Leisure and Development meeting that BIDs was an idea catching on around the world.
There were already six pilot BID areas already in NI, with two in Belfast city, raising 6,250,000 of revenue and one in Ballymena raising 1.5m.
