AN ELDERLY Kilrea man has revealed the unusual coincidence of how a nearby friend discovered a workbook filled with essays he had written during the Second World War.
Vivienne Bolton had been clearing out a box of old family things, when she stumbled across a workbook which contained some essays dated back to 1943.
From reading through the workbook, Vivienne soon realised that the book belonged to Allen Proctor, a friend of hers who lived close by.
It is believed that the workbook had been used by Allen's father, who had passed the book to Vivienne's late husband. The book had then been forgotten about and lay in the box for many years.
