£9m investment in new homes

A HOUSING association is investing £9m into providing much-needed new homes in Coleraine.
Fold is currently building 89 houses and apartments at four sites across the town with work due to start on another 30 homes later this year.
The new developments are at Laurel Hill, Captain Street Upper, Hazelbank Road and Society Street, providing 89 houses and apartments for families, couples and singles.
Director of Development Anita Conway said: "Fold Housing Association has a long history of providing sheltered accommodation in the North Coast region.
“It has been part of our long term strategy to complement our provision of sheltered accommodation with general needs social housing for families and singles in an area of high housing need.
“The new developments represent an investment of £6m in the area from Fold, supported by £6m from the Department for Communities.
“The homes are a mix of apartments and houses designed to suit the needs of a range of people who need homes in the area. Eighty-three have been designed to the Lifetime Homes and Secured by Design Standards to meet the existing and changing needs of diverse households.
