A MOTHER is believed to have been shot after putting her life on the line to save her son during a paramilitary-style shooting in their home.
Violence flared on Sunday night (February 19) after a masked gunman burst into a semi-detached house in James Street, off Coleraine's Bushmills Road, at around 7.15.
The property was sealed off while detectives searched for clues.
The 28-year-old man was shot in the leg while his mother, who is in her 50s, was shot in the foot. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
