Alleged murderer is refused bail thumbnailRichard Dalzell pictured at earlier court proceedings.

A WINDOW cleaner accused of murder, who applied for bail after his partner's 16-year-old daughter gave birth, has had the application refused. Richard Dalzell is charged with murdering 54-year-old Mark Lamont in Coleraine last year.
Dalzell, 36, from Whinpark Road, Newtownards, is currently in custody and appeared before North Antrim Magistrates, sitting in Coleraine, yesterday (Monday, February 20) via video link.
Applying for bail, a defence lawyer initially said it was because the accused had become a grandfather on February 11.
A police officer, who was opposing bail, said it was Dalzell's partner's daughter who had given birth.
Dalzell clarified that was the case but told the court he had 'reared' the teen mum 'as my own.'
