Rising anger over hospital scam

A LONG serving Northern Trust employee says she fears her personal details - including her bank details and national insurance number - have been sold on amid rising anger over an alleged 'scam' which targeted workers at the Causeway Hospital and which was exclusively revealed in this paper last week.
The worker, who has been speaking exclusively to the Chronicle and with East Londonderry DUP candidate Maurice Bradley and who did not wish to be identified, called on Trust officials to apologise and claimed someone within management must have knowledge of the apparent fraud which occurred in October last year.
It is alleged that representatives of what is believed to be a bogus company set up a stall within a cafe in the Causeway Hospital on the understanding that they had been invited there by the Trust to help staff claim tax rebates from HMRC.
“People are mad," claimed the employee who, like countless others, willingly handed over highly sensitive information. It's the topic of conversation every day and morale is very low.
“Management hasn't spoken to us and I think the Trust should be issuing an apology to all the affected staff. They say don't know about it but somebody somewhere knows something.
