Hospital scam shock thumbnailThe canteen area of the Causeway Hospital where a bogus company set up a stall to dupe hospital staff.

MEMBERS of staff at the Causeway Hospital have been duped out of hundreds of pounds after a bogus company set up a stall in their workplace in order to "help" them claim tax back from HMRC.
It is alleged that back in October two men took up residence at a table in the canteen area of the hospital, telling staff members they had been invited there by the Northern Trust to help employees claim tax rebates.
Not only have the unsuspecting members of staff been swindled out of money, their personal details have also been stolen in a move which has been branded a "major breach of security."
Causeway Coast and Glens Independent Cllr Padraig McShane claimed members of domestic staff, the catering team and nursing staff were conned by the bogus company, who claimed to be working throughout the area.
Speaking to The Chronicle, Cllr McShane said: "The very fact that these two men were able to walk into the hospital and set up their table without being sanctioned is a major security breach.
"Even though some members of staff challenged them, they defiantly said they were invited there by the Northern Trust, leading the staff members to feel they were bona fide.
