Jobs in jeopardy? thumbnailThe Riverside Regional Centre.

COLERAINE could lose out on 50 jobs and a much-needed 1m cash injection if the green light isn't given for a new discount store at the town's retail park. That's the claim of DUP Assembly candidate Adrian McQuillan who is backing a fresh bid to open a Home Bargains unit at the out of town shopping complex.
Mr McQuillan will be among those making representations at a Planning Appeals Commission hearing tomorrow (Wednesday, January 25) at the Bushtown Hotel. He will be speaking in support of the application.
Plans to extend a retail unit for Home Bargains were refused by the DoE who contended that there were alternative sites in the town centre. Regional planning policy directs that town centres will be preferred location for such proposals.
