‘High quality resort’ is Minister’s aim thumbnailCommunities Minister Paul Givan visited Royal Portrush Golf Club recently to help launch a £3m regeneration scheme which aims to help bring vacant, derelict or underused land and buildings in the town back into use ahead of The Open Championship in 2019.

TRADERS and residents in Portrush have welcomed the announcement of £3m funding for the regeneration of the resort in preparation for the return of The Open Golf Championship in 2019.
Communities Minister Paul Givan has launched a regeneration scheme specific to Portrush to help bring vacant, derelict or underused land and buildings in the town back into use ahead of the famous golf tournament.
Causeway Coast and Glens Council officers are managing a consultation period, along with the lead developer, to gauge feedback from local residents on a proposed facelift for for the town.
Over 120 residents and visitors packed into Portrush Town Hall for a Portrush Regeneration Programme consultation evening on January 4.
