Trader’s blast at ‘backward’ town thumbnailSamuel Moore, from S&T Moore menswear Coleraine, believes the Council have neglected the town.

A WELL established Coleraine trader has brandished the town "backward" and is blaming the local council for "neglecting" the town, especially in the run up to Christmas. Samuel Moore, owner of long-standing menswear shop S&T Moore, on Railway Road, told The Chronicle he believes shoppers are not getting the selection they want in Coleraine town.
However Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has responded and told The Chronicle it organised an "extensive Christmas marketing campaign" and that initial sales figures have been "positive".
Speaking on his shop's Christmas trade, Samuel Moore said: "I wouldn't say it's been brilliant. It's not been a disaster but it has been slow. There seems to be more shoppers around after Christmas than during the weeks before.
“I think trade has been slow-ish, a lot of people are now buying online which hits shops hard. We provide a more personal service and hope that continues to draw in our loyal customers.
