Traders on the right road thumbnailA total of 26 businesses on Railway Road have, to date, applied for funding as part of the latest revitalisation project for the area.

BUSINESSES operating in the Railway Road area of Coleraine are being given a second chance to apply for funding as part of a new revitalisation project.
The scheme was re-opened last Friday by council officers who had received almost 30 applications for financial help prior to the original closing date.
The call was made by council officials after a number of shop owners complained they had not been given sufficient time to prepare their submissions.
Under the plans announced in September the improvement works are expected to extend into Kingsgate Street, Brook Street and Long Commons.
Causeway Coast and Glens Council is responsible for delivering the initiative and it told The Chronicle there can be a 'long lead-in time for applicants to prepare the requisite paperwork'.

A spokeswoman explained: "This can often include planning or advertising consent and there is also a requirement to prepare quotations in support of the application, which can support a request for funding. We've also received some feedback from two of our current schemes where applicants have experienced difficulties in obtaining quotes. Again, as with other schemes, we often employ a two-deadline approach.
