My final moments with Reece thumbnailMuch-loved Coleraine schoolboy Reece Meenan.

A SHOCKED grandfather, who tenderly cradled Coleraine schoolboy Reece Meenan during his final moments, has spoken of his sadness. Dog walker Maurice Dickey was just yards from the hit and run incident on the Newbridge Road dual carriageway which claimed the life of the 13-year-old Loreto pupil on Saturday evening.
Reece, from Strand Road, was laid to rest today (Tuesday, November 29) at Agherton Cemetery, Portstewart, following Requiem Mass in the town's Star of the Sea Church at 11am.
Mr Dickey said: "I was on Mountsandel Road when I heard a dull thud and a squeal or a shout; when I looked over the flyover I could clearly see a young boy lying on the central reservation below.
“I realised there had been an accident and rushed down the footpath at the side of the bridge. I could see about half a dozen teenagers; one lad said he had put the injured boy into the recovery position.
