Coleraine’s Caring Caretaker, Davy Boyle will be starting his annual charity sit out this Christmas, on the 8th December.
COLERAINE'S 'Caring Caretaker,' Davy Boyle, is putting the finishing touches to preparations for his annual Christmas sit-out which this year begins on Monday, December 8.
From that date, until Christmas Eve, except for Sundays, Davy will sit out outside Coleraine Town Hall each day from 6am until 6pm and until 9pm once the town opens for late night shopping.
This year, Davy, who raised thousands of pounds for various charities over the years, is hoping to help four new charities including the Chest, Heart and Stroke Association, Motor Neurone Disease, Alzheimer's Disease and the Ulster Cancer Fund.
His aim is to raise £42,000 for the year, meaning that he can present £10,000 to each of the four chosen charities as well as £2,000 to the orphanage named in his honour in Zomba.
“I know things are difficult financially for people at the moment but hopefully they can continue to support me as well as they have done in the past," said Davy, who was awarded the MBE for his charitable efforts.
“If you happen to be in the town just pop down and see me - don't leave me there all on my own!"
