MORE than 60 swimmers took part in this year's annual 'Freeze Knees' swim on Christmas Day at Portstewart Strand.
Indeed, from a mysterious monk to a flighty fairy, a wide range of participants, some adorned in fancy dress, braved the cold to raise money for the Coleraine Hospice Support Group.
All ages took part - from a ten year-old to a 77 year-old - whilst onlookers offered their support from the beach.
A spokeswoman from Coleraine Hospice Support Group said the organisation was very grateful to those who had taken sponsor forms. She said they also thanked all the onlookers who had given so generously to the cash collection on the beach.
